  1. 1 cup Sprouted Whole moong
  2. 1 cup Sprouted moth beans
  3. 1 cup Water
  4. 1/2 cup Hot water
  5. Gravy:
  6. 1/2 cup Chopped onion
  7. 1 cup Chopped tomatoes
  8. 1 tablespoon Ginger garlic paste
  9. 1/4 cup Green Chilli, fresh coconut and cumin paste
  10. 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  11. 1/4 tsp Hing
  12. 5 - 6 Curry leaves
  13. 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  14. 1 tsp Chilli powder
  15. 1 tsp Coriander powder
  16. 1 tsp Garam masala
  17. 1 tsp Jaggery powder
  18. 1 tsp Lemon juice
  19. as per taste Salt
  20. as required Chopped coriander leaves to garnish
  21. as required Ladi pav to serve (see my linked recipe)

Steps to make to make Diet Misal Pav (No Oil Recipe)

  1. First, pressure cook the sprouted moong and moth with 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder in 1 cup water for 5 whistles. Cool completely and remove.
  2. Then heat a heavy iron kadhai. Add 1/2 cup warm water. Add mustard, hing and let it boil well. Add onions, ginger garlic paste and saute well Then add the chillii, coconut paste and saute well.
  3. When the paste starts giving aroma, add the tomatoes and fry well. Add all the spices and mix well. Add some water and cover. Cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Then add the cooked beans and mix well. Add salt, jaggery and cook for 5 minutes. Mash with back of spoon or potato masher for thickness. Then remove and add lemon juice. Adjust the seasonings and spices as per your taste.
  5. Serve immediately accompanied by Laadi Paav, lemon and onion slices. Tip 1 :-Garnish with chopped onions, avoid adding fried farsan, sev etc as this is a diet recipe. Tip 2:- I have neither used ghee nor oil in this recipe. Very good for weight management. Tip 3,:- You can add a small boiled and mashed potato for thickness.
